Elden Ring updates restore .exe files to their default state so you could end up being banned if you forget to do it. Patched I guess.

FromSoft put an FPS lock and did not include widescreen support. Implementing the simple fixes modders have made will have EAC flag/ban you. So it's offline only at the moment.
